Watch what you eat…

On the other hand foods rich in mono-unsaturated fats help in preventing fat from settling in the abdominal section. Intake of fibers ought to be increased in order to boost the body’s metabolic activity, which plays an important role in defining your waist and flattening your stomach. Consume small meals throughout the day and spread them evenly with a gap of 2-3 hours in between two meals. A simple habit can make all the difference. Here I am talking about consuming plenty of water. Water naturally detoxifies your body and speeds up your metabolism. Try to replace carbonated drinks and alcohol with fruit juices. Opt for lemonade instead of tea or coffee. These simple alterations can benefit your hips and waist massively!
Exercises that target love handles and abdomen…
A major hurdle in helping you achieve a slimmer waist are your love handles and paunch. Plan an exercise regime that aims at working out your love handles. Sit ups, crunches, squats, power yoga and Pilates are exercises that can perform wonders in whittling down your waist and hips. Exercising should become a way of life and not just a daily routine. Another form of exercise which can be incorporated in your daily life is resistance training. Ask your instructor or look for a resistance training regimen, it not only targets your abdominal fat but your overall body fat as well. It definitely works!
Exercise is not the only way…
Well, I know you might be surprised reading this subhead. But true it is! Walking on the treadmill or performing vigorous exercises are not the only things that will whittle fat from the middle. Yes! Match your activity with your personality. I know of many people who lose interest in their exercising schedule ‘coz its boring and mundane. Then play a sport you like or how about signing up for dance classes? The point is to enjoy what you do, it is only then you be able to reap maximum benefits out of it. Suggestion: Swimming is a fantastic sport and helps immensely in toning your body. As far as dance is concerned, Zumba is a good dance form to learn and its vigorous movements help in melting fat, thus helping you achieve a perfect figure.
Self motivation is important…
This is one thing without which, the dream of having a slimmer waist will seem like a daunting task. Because, initially when we plan things, alter our diets and buy new gym clothes; we are very enthusiastic and we tend to religiously follow it for a month, at the maximum, two. However, after that the spirit seems to fade slowly and eventually dies. Therefore, it is important you keep motivating yourself to not lose interest. For that, you have to keep reminding yourself about the ultimate aim, measure your achievements (don’t forget to treat yourself for the same) and most importantly, keep telling yourself about how near you are to your set goal! This will definitely keep you going and help you achieve the hourglass figure.
You can also invest in a hula, which can be twirled around your waist, which tones your waist. And then, buy a full-sized mirror…???. Why?, So you can get the exotic shape (hourglass figure) you have been working for!
